Mr.Hotsia recommends hotels in Ngwesaung, Pathein, Ayeyarwady Region. Hinthada is a city in the northern part of Ayeyarwady Region with the Ayeyarwady River flowing through it. In 1983, the city had a population of 82,005, but by 2010, it had grown to 170,312. Hinthada has universities including the University of Computer Studies and the Technological University established in 2016. Mr.Hotsia traveled to Hinthada.
I searched all hotels; all five were fully booked. So, I asked a temple for accommodation. They provided lodging and breakfast. For communication, I had them talk to someone who spoke both Burmese and Thai, then communicate by phone. This was the trick I used for this trip. Hinthada is a city with the Ayeyarwady River running through it and serves as a route to Pyay. I think this city is bigger than Pathein. There are more fish in the markets, and people seem to have higher incomes than in the capital, Pathein.
People in this city smiled at me; almost everyone looked at tourists and smiled back. It is a very friendly city. The morning market is large but mainly sells fish. There are ATMs in the city. When I ran out of money, I withdrew cash here. The Ayeyarwady River was very dry during this period, even though it is usually several kilometers wide. At night, people prefer bars that also serve food. There are many mobile phone shops in the city. Electricity is available 24 hours a day.
Hinthada has about 4-5 hotels with room rates around 500-1000 baht. Food options include Burmese-style made-to-order restaurants in the city.
