Traveling in Paed Riew: Stainless Steel Church at Wat Hua Thung

This church is located at Wat Hua Suan, Samet Nuea Subdistrict, Bang Khla District, Chachoengsao Province. It is built entirely of stainless steel with the hope that the church will last for a thousand years. The budget was 50 million baht. The ubosot measures 7.50 meters wide, 18 meters long, and 6.50 meters high. Inside, there is a very beautiful principal Buddha statue that looks unusual, similar to those I have seen in Myanmar. I visited here in the early afternoon, paid respects to the Buddha, and rested inside the church.
It was very cool and comfortable, with no tourists at all. I guess not many people know about it yet. Another well-known stainless steel church in Thailand is at Wat Pa Lam Kha Khaeng, Kanchanaburi Province. I have never been there. Mr.Hotsia October 2011.
