At first, I thought not to write about traveling on Koh Samet because it’s very easy, but I worried some might not imagine it well, so I have to write a bit. Traveling on Samet is served by green songthaews that cover all the main beaches. Prices start at 10 baht per person for nearby beaches and increase gradually, with the highest fare at 60 baht.

These prices are for groups traveling together; if you go alone or rent the whole vehicle, the price will be higher but still reasonable with no overcharging. Koh Samet is a top-grade tourist destination in Thailand with well-developed tourism services. The transport management here is excellent and trustworthy, with no price gouging. The bus queue stops in front of the 7-Eleven store.
Samet also has a 7-Eleven store with ATMs. Everything is ready, so you don’t need to carry a lot of food from the mainland. Prices are similar and not much different. Accommodation on Koh Samet is located along various beaches and bays, offering a wide range of prices. The popular beach for freshmen or young travelers is Sai Kaew Beach. Accommodation at Sai Kaew Beach can be booked as I recommend below or you can walk in if it’s not a long holiday, but accommodations on the island tend to be fully booked anyway.
If you don’t want to ride the songthaew, there are motorcycles for rent here at 300 baht per day. I think this price is a bit high compared to Pai, but it’s acceptable. If you plan to visit all beaches, this is the recommended way. Let’s look at the road conditions on Koh Samet. Motorcycles for rent on Samet.
