Every beach has accommodations with similar prices, so don’t stress too much about choosing a beach. You can stay at various beaches and bays with a wide range of prices. The popular beach for freshmen or young travelers is Sai Kaew Beach. Accommodations at Sai Kaew Beach can be booked as I recommend below, or you can just walk in if it’s not a long holiday.
However, accommodations on Koh Samet are often fully booked. Regarding food, I’ve heard that Jeab Bungalow serves delicious meals. Many people go to eat at Jeab Bungalow. But most accommodations also offer food service. Having dinner at your lodging is the most convenient because you don’t have to walk far. You can eat while watching the fire shows and then go to sleep when you feel sleepy. On Samet, fire shows are available on many beaches, and beach food is reasonably priced. When I went, I stayed at Ao Phai, which is just a bit further from Sai Kaew Beach.
Accommodations there are similarly priced and there is a road between the lodging and the sea. Don’t expect Maldives-style beachfront resorts; most places require a short walk through the forest. Tonight on Samet, I watched fire shows on the beach. There were quite a few tourists at night. I drank a little to enjoy the travel atmosphere, watching the sea and fire shows.
