Samrong canal connects between the Chao Phraya River and Bang Pakong River. I have lived by the canals since childhood, learning to swim in the canal, paddling a boat to school, bathing, and using canal water. Even though Ban Rakat Subdistrict where I live now has a walking street right in front of the house, most locals still mainly travel by boat as before. The canal life is charming, with people paddling boats to sell goods in front of houses. Even today, boats still come to sell goods in front of houses as usual.

The weather is nice with fields, farms, and canals even though it is only 32 kilometers from Bangkok. Today, I still live with the canal people and am proud to be born as a farmer's child, fishing since I was young. I wrote this to preserve images of the waterfront, vegetable gardens in front of the house, and beautiful views on the internet before time passes and these may no longer be seen by future generations. (See canal map and canal layout)

Nowadays, my family no longer farms rice. The backyard has long been converted into a fish pond. In front of the house, there are some flowering plants and holy basil. In winter, the flowers bloom beautifully. Growing up with the canal lifestyle made me prefer natural travel over city food tours. I enjoy traveling to rural Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Yunnan, and other countries independently, not with tours. I intend to make this website for independent travelers forever.

I really like this clip :) but it’s not Bang Bo snakehead fish, it’s Nile tilapia at Ban Rakat Subdistrict, Bang Bo District. The flowers in front of the house look quite beautiful. I like eating holy basil so much that I grow it myself. The front garden, traditional rainwater jars, the fish pond behind the house, all look nice. Beautiful unknown flowers, flowers at Ban Rakat, Bang Bo. Traditional water jars, the canal in front of the house, the small canal of Ban Rakat. The front of the house faces the expressway to Chonburi not far away.
