Recommended Breakfast Spot in Kaeng Krachan: Homestyle Flavors at "Khun Kim's Restaurant"
If you love traveling like memr.hotsiaTasting local morning food is one of the true joys of serious travel in Kaeng Krachan, Phetchabun Province. On this trip, I aimed to find simple breakfast dishes that locals really eat—not fancy or newly opened restaurants. This place became my destination.Khun Kim's RestaurantA small made-to-order eatery with a truly local atmosphere
Khun Kim's Restaurant is located not far from Kaeng Krachan district center. It’s a small temporary shack while the owner waits for the building across the street to be completed to move the restaurant there. But I actually prefer this atmosphere. It feels simple and warm, like eating with real locals, not a place staged for tourists.
Must-try dish: Kaeng Krachan Pla Chalard Fish Cakes
I ordered made-to-order dishes and noodles from the many options available, but what impressed me most was the Kaeng Krachan Pla Chalard fish cakes. Pla Chalard is a rare freshwater fish famous in Kaeng Krachan. The chewy texture and rich flavor of the fish cakes made by Khun Kim’s Restaurant were so good I wanted to order another plate. I had them over rice and ordered an extra plate. These fish cakes are not just snacks but a breakfast full of deliciousness and local pride.
While eating, I observed the simple daily life of the locals starting their day. Most customers were locals, with few tourists, which made the atmosphere even warmer and friendlier.

Phetchabun Province has more charm than many think—not just main attractions like Khao Wang or Cha-am. Even around Kaeng Krachan, there are peaceful spots and tasty food waiting to be discovered.Phetchaburi Travel InformationAs I have shared before, traveling in this province deserves time in each district to absorb the true atmosphere and flavors.
