hotsia kids School Holiday Trip 8/26: Hotel Breakfast in Huế, Vietnam
Hello, I am mr.hotsia. Today I take you to taste breakfast at a hotel in Huế, the former capital of Thừa Thiên-Huế Province, Vietnam. This place is a popular destination for travelers who enjoy experiencing history, culture, and authentic Vietnamese food in a simple yet uniquely charming atmosphere. I had the chance to visit here during the 8/26 school holiday with my family, hotsia kids.
Mornings in Huế start a little earlier than in Thailand because the time here is ahead of ours. At six in the morning, the weather is cool and perfect for a walk to enjoy the breeze before breakfast. I like to walk from my accommodation near the Perfume River to the hotel I booked. Recommended accommodation area includesDMZ HotelAffordable price, good air conditioning, strong hot water, fast WIFI, suitable for those who want comfort at a budget price.
Breakfast at the hotel is different from typical Thai hotel breakfasts that often include fried eggs, ham, or rice porridge. Here, the focus is on traditional Vietnamese dishes such as hot pork rice porridge served with fresh vegetables and clear broth fragrant with Vietnamese spices. Some days, there is also Bánh mì, Vietnamese bread that is crispy outside and soft inside, filled with grilled pork, spices, and freshly made pickled vegetables.
Another special feature of Huế breakfast is “Mì” or hot flat noodles, which are different from Hanoi’s Pho or Hoi An’s noodle soups. The noodles here are thin and soft, served with a rich broth carefully simmered. I have written in an articleFood in Huếthat food in Huế is very cheap, only about 20-30 baht, and the taste is very pleasing to me and my family, hotsia kids.
When I stayed here, the hotel offered freshly squeezed juices such as orange juice, mango juice, and strong Vietnamese coffee. For kids, there was milk and sweet bread to try. Besides breakfast, some hotels also provide seasonal fruits like ripe mango, durian, or sweet tamarind to refresh the morning.
After a full breakfast, I usually take my family for a walk along the Perfume River, which is not far from the hotel. The morning atmosphere in Huế is quiet and refreshing, helping us relax and get ready for adventures in this ancient city. There is a beautiful bridge crossing the Perfume River, and if anyone is interested in more travel information about Huế, I recommend readingHuế Travel Informationthat I have written to get to know this city better.
Huế has a charm different from other cities in Vietnam because besides historical tourist sites likethe Old Imperial City of Huếthe city’s atmosphere is calm and not as hectic as Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. Importantly, the food here is affordable and very diverse, especially the hotel breakfasts that let us experience authentic flavors that Vietnamese people eat daily.
For families with young children, hotsia kids recommends trying breakfast here because the ingredients are fresh, clean, and not too spicy, suitable for kids who want to try new flavors without worrying about it being too strong.
If you plan to visit Huế during the school holiday like me, don’t forget to set aside a morning to walk along the Perfume River, enjoy the view of the illuminated bridge at night, and try Vietnamese breakfast at the hotel. I guarantee this experience will make your trip with your family unforgettable.
