Hotels and Accommodation in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai
When talking about Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province, from a traveler's perspective like mine, mr.hotsia, I can say “This place is not only about markets and delicious food, but also offers comfortable accommodation at affordable prices with complete amenities.” I had the chance to stay here myself and want to share my direct experience with everyone planning to visit this city.
Accommodation in this city mostly does not include hostel-style guesthouses. Most are standard hotels, which I see as a good thing because the prices displayed at the counter are clear with no price gouging like in some big cities in Vietnam. A double room costs about 600 baht, and a single room is around 400 baht, which is much cheaper than in Ho Chi Minh City.
When I stayed in Bien Hoa City, I chose to stay atTulip Hotelwhich is located not far from the morning market, within easy walking distance, and offers an authentic local atmosphere. My first impression was the very fast Wi-Fi internet. I measured the speed and it was nearly ten times faster than in Thailand, with about 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload, which is sufficient for online work or video streaming without any issues.
Although the owner of Tulip Hotel doesn't speak much English, communication was easy with simple Vietnamese and gestures. The room I stayed in was on the top floor facing the street, with a soft comfortable bed and cool air conditioning. Although the bathroom door couldn't be locked, overall it was very good value for the price. The location is perfect for those who want to stroll to the morning market and explore the nearby Đồng Nai River.
Regarding hotels in Bien Hoa City, I found there are about 5-10 places, mostly mid-range hotels with reasonable prices. Besides Tulip Hotel, there are alsoBuu Long Hotel, Diamond Hotel, Dong Nai Hotel, Ngoc Yen Hotel, The Peace Hotel, Sao Mai Hotel, and Vinh An Hotel. Most of these hotels are located in the city center, near markets, or in convenient travel zones.
If you want accommodation within easy walking distance to the morning market, I recommend staying in the market area. This way, you can truly experience the local community lifestyle and enjoy walking along the beautiful and peaceful Đồng Nai River. Alternatively, if you want a change of atmosphere, you can stay near the intersection close to Big C and the industrial zone, where there are many street food vendors and a lively city vibe.
Experience Staying at Tulip Hotel
I, mr.hotsia, stayed here for two nights and liked how easy it was to walk to the morning market. I often woke up early to stroll around theBien Hoa Morning Marketand taste fresh dishes like Banh Cuon with shrimp paste, a signature dish of this city (if you're interested in food, you can read what I wrote atBien Hoa Local Food). The market also offers a variety of fresh freshwater fish and seasonal fruits.
One night, I chose to relax at Tulip Hotel after walking along the nearby Đồng Nai River. The atmosphere was peaceful and not too noisy. The room had cool air conditioning and a soft bed, allowing me to sleep soundly all night. Although the bathroom door couldn't be locked, it was not a major issue for me during this trip.
Travel and Location of Accommodation in Bien Hoa
For traveling to Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province, I recommend taking the bus from Ho Chi Minh City at Cho Lon station, where buses depart every 25 minutes and the drive is about 30 kilometers. If you prefer taxis, they are available but not very frequent. However, I suggest using Google Maps to pin your hotel in advance to make the trip from the bus station to your accommodation more convenient and safer.
Bien Hoa City has a large industrial zone and a bridge over the Đồng Nai River that is under expansion, causing some traffic jams during my visit. But if you stay near the market or by the river, you won't encounter much traffic because it's easy to get around and the small-town atmosphere is charmingly different from Ho Chi Minh City.
Other Hotels in Bien Hoa City
Besides Tulip Hotel, I also explored other interesting hotels in this city such asDiamond Hotelwhich is not far from the market, andKhách Sạn Kim Ly, Phi Dung Hotelwhich are also in convenient locations. As forGuest House 71I couldn't find it; it might be located farther away and not very cheap.
For travelers who enjoy local atmosphere and tranquility, these hotels are well suited because most are mid-range with full amenities and high-speed internet, which is very important nowadays for both tourists and remote workers.
Summary of Experience and Recommendations
