Hotel stay experience in Thái Nguyên city with perspectives from mr.hotsia

Thái Nguyên city, a province I had the chance to visit on May 4-5, 2015, is a large, vibrant city with a dense population. My accommodation choice focused on comfort and proximity to major tourist attractions. This time, I chose to stay atVictory Hotelon a main road in the city center

This hotel costs about 600 baht per night, which is very good value for a room with cool air conditioning, a TV, and internet that, although fast, occasionally disconnects. Overall, it meets travelers' needs well. What impressed me most was the location, as it is within walking distance to the morning market and conveniently close to the bus station, so no need to rely on taxis. Importantly, there are restaurants and fresh coffee shops nearby, allowing a close experience of local city life.

The top floor of the hotel has a restaurant with a very nice atmosphere. I tried it out. Although the food here is pre-prepared and served buffet-style, so it’s not as hot and fresh as outside restaurants, it was enough to satisfy hunger and relax in the evening.

Getting to know Thái Nguyên city

Thái Nguyên is located in northeastern Vietnam and is considered a regional center with nearly one million residents. The city is famous for tea production. The province has more than 21 universities and colleges, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere.Thái Nguyên ProvinceIt is also a center for the tea industry. Tea produced here is recognized as the best in Vietnam. Tea lovers should not miss tasting the local tea in this area.

Traveling to this city is convenient. I came from Hanoi by bus and train, which took less than 2 hours. This makes it suitable for those wanting to escape the hustle of big cities but still experience the authentic lifestyle of Vietnamese people.

Night atmosphere and karaoke bars in Thái Nguyên

After checking in, I explored the alley behind the hotel filled with dozens of karaoke bars. This is an incredibly lively nightlife area. However, due to strong cigarette smoke and it not being my style, I didn’t try singing or enjoying the atmosphere there. From local inquiries, these bars have a system where Vietnamese women are invited to sing along, which is a unique cultural aspect of this city.

Exploring the morning market and must-try local food

The next morning, I walked from the hotel to theThái Nguyên Province Morning Marketlocated along the main road. The atmosphere was bustling with vendors riding bicycles selling fresh produce and various foods. I noticed many flower shops as well as fresh ducks and geese sold by the roadside. There are also noodle shops serving pho and bun with very delicious flavors, perfect for a breakfast while watching the real lifestyle of Thái Nguyên people.

This kind of breakfast reminded me of the authentic northern Vietnamese flavors that are unique. Visitors should not miss trying it. For lunch, I chose to eat at the hotel to rest from the hot sun. For dinner, I highly recommendRoasted Duck Stuffed with Chinese Star Anise LeavesThis dish is truly outstanding! Roasted duck stuffed with Chinese star anise leaves, a traditional northern Vietnamese herb, gives the duck a fragrant and deep flavor. Served with hot steamed rice and a special dipping sauce, I was very impressed.

Lifestyle and impressions from mr.hotsia

Thái Nguyên is not just a city with tea factories and large educational institutions but is also full of interesting culture and lifestyle. From the morning market to street food stalls and lively nightlife, I saw the true identity of the people here who maintain simplicity and warmth despite being a large, densely populated city.

For those who enjoy in-depth travel and experiencing the real lifestyle of northern Vietnamese people, Thái Nguyên province is a choice not to be overlooked. If I were to recommend accommodation, I suggestVictory Hotelbecause of its great location near the market and transport, convenient travel, and reasonable prices.

Don’t forget to trylocal disheswith unique characteristics. To get to know this city more deeply, watch the Vietnamese food videos I recommend, such as Grilled Button Squid or Vietnamese Chicken Biryani, which will enrich your travel experience.

Finally, the trip toThái Nguyên Provincewith mr.hotsia was truly satisfying in terms of food flavors, lifestyle, and the atmosphere of a city that still retains the authentic northern Vietnamese spirit.
