Thai Nguyen Internet in Vietnam from mr.hotsia's perspective
When talking about Thái Nguyên province in Vietnam, many might think of its famous tea or the city's atmosphere blending modernity with local lifestyle. But for mr.hotsia, a serious traveler, the topic ofInternet in Thái Nguyênis also an interesting issue. During my trip in May 2015, I experienced the internet in this city fully, both its advantages and disadvantages, which I want to share honestly.
Thái Nguyên is located about 80 kilometers from Hanoi along National Highway 3, making travel convenient by train, bus, and minibus. Although this city is almost as large as Hanoi, the internet speed here is still somewhat unstable. I stayed at Victory Hotel in the city center, priced at 600 baht per night, which is very good value for the comfort and location, with easy walking access to the morning market and restaurants.
Internet in Thái Nguyên – Fast but Frequently Disconnects
Regarding the internet, I must say it is a double-edged sword. Testing from my room at Victory Hotel, the internet here is quite fast compared to many provinces in Vietnam I have visited. However, the frustrating point is frequent disconnections, especially in the evening when many people use it. Those who need to work online seriously or livestream should be prepared.
But for travelers like mr.hotsia who focus on updating stories and photos on social media, the internet here is acceptable. It’s not as fast as in big cities but sufficient to share the atmosphere of life inThái Nguyên Provincein real-time.
Internet Connecting Lifestyle and Tourism
The interesting aspect of the internet in Thái Nguyên is not just speed, but how it helps open the world closer to the community and local lifestyle. I spent mornings walking the Thái Nguyên morning market as I mentioned inThái Nguyên Province Morning MarketHere, besides enjoying fresh pho and boiled dishes, I had the chance to take photos and interact with vendors through social media immediately.
Although it’s a simple roadside market, having internet allowed me to research more about the characteristics of products, such as the province’s famous tea or the origin of the Chinese star anise leaves used to stuff the roast duck I loved so much that I shared inRoast Duck Stuffed with Chinese Star Anise LeavesThis helped me understand and deeply absorb the local way of life.
Internet for Relaxation and Entertainment in Thái Nguyên City
After enjoying local food and walking the morning market, I returned to the hotel to rest and try the internet service again. Besides decent speed, the internet helped me find information about restaurants and entertainment in the city, such as karaoke bars filling the alley behind the hotel, which is the nightlife area of Thái Nguyên. Although I didn’t try them, knowing the atmosphere and choosing places through the internet made the trip much more enjoyable.
For travelers interested in staying in the city center, I recommend choosing hotels on main roads like where I stayed. It’s easy to walk, close to markets and restaurants, and has internet access. Although there are occasional disconnections, it doesn’t significantly affect travel. Summary of Internet Experience in Thái Nguyên from mr.hotsia
If you are a traveler who enjoys exploring secondary cities like Thái Nguyên, the internet here is an important tool to connect with the outside world and enhance travel convenience. Although not perfect like in big cities, the available speed is enough to comfortably share photos and stories.
Importantly, the internet in Thái Nguyên is also a bridge connecting you with the true local lifestyle, from searching for morning market information, choosing to taste special dishes like roast duck with Chinese star anise leaves, to planning trips in and around the province.
