Victoria Falls and Iguazu Falls Locals call this place Tad Ban Gioc or Tad Ban Sop. 'Tad' means waterfall in Lao and Isan languages. I traveled 3 hours from Cao Bằng and stayed at the Saigon Ban Gioc waterfall hotel for 1800 baht per night. Early morning, I went to take photos. Currently, the water flow is low, so it’s not very beautiful yet. We need more rain. I like being in the middle of rice fields with a river separating Vietnam and China. The boat trips to the waterfall offer both Vietnamese and Chinese experiences.
Park on your own side. There is also a cave here. To get here, take a direct bus from Cao Bằng for 120 baht, about 3 hours. Most visitors come in the morning and return the same day, but if you stay overnight, the mountain frog sounds at the resort create a wonderful atmosphere. For China, the falls are located in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, about 208 km from the Guangxi capital Nanning. The waterfall is 100 meters wide, 60 meters deep, and 70 meters high.
From Vietnam’s perspective, the waterfall has a total width of 208 meters. Ban Gioc Waterfall is a popular tourist destination and was voted by China’s National Geographic magazine as one of the six most beautiful waterfalls in China in 2005. Chinese newspapers and central television also ranked Ban Gioc Waterfall among the top ten most beautiful waterfalls in China. In Vietnam, it is considered the most beautiful waterfall in the country.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, about 30,000 tourists visit Cao Bằng Province, Vietnam each year to see Ban Gioc Waterfall.
