This factory handles the entire process from extracting silk threads from silkworms. I tried touching the silk thread; it was stiff, not as soft as I had imagined. The silk is extracted using machines, then wound into threads before being woven by machines. I was quite puzzled watching the process.
Because the guide who took me there didn’t say anything, I had to secretly listen to other tour guides. I recommend booking tours with companies that cater to foreign tourists for better information. This was my first time seeing a silk weaving factory from start to finish, including the dyeing process. However, the factory seemed quiet with few machines running. There were only three workers operating the weaving machines. They also sell silk souvenirs and other items to tourists.
