I took a bus from Ho Chi Minh to Ba Ria city, which is 20 kilometers from Vung Tau. This city does not see many foreign tourists, but there are some. The highlight of this city is the night market selling kem ga roti.

Ba Ria city is a good option for an overnight stay before continuing to Vung Tau. I arrived from Ho Chi Minh to Ba Ria at night and found accommodation for about 500 baht per night near the night market and bus station. There are dozens of hotels to choose from, mostly with motorcycle parking.

Most guests are Vietnamese. There are not many tourist activities here. I just walked around in the evening, visited the morning market, and the night market, looking for unusual local foods that locals eat. The next day, I took a bus to Vung Tau city, stayed there, and enjoyed sightseeing and dining. In Ba Ria, I stayed at Thanh Van Hotel, located near the night market and not far from the bus station.
