During several weeks of traveling in southern Vietnam with mr.hotsia, if you take a boat along the Mekong Delta rivers, you will see many brick factories along the canals and riversides. Visiting Ben Tre and joining a half-day tour to see the brick making and firing process is highly recommended.
Here are some clips and photos to share. The process starts with molding clay into blocks, then sun-drying them before firing in kilns that use crab shells as fuel. I would call them more like ovens.
