After that, I walked around the lake in the center of Ben Tre city, which reminded me a bit of Nong Jong Kham in the middle of Mae Hong Son city. Around the lake, there are local vendors selling snacks. The atmosphere is nice; I liked it. Then I walked a bit further along the street to a public park in the center of Ben Tre, where there is a beautiful illuminated sculpture exhibition and a monument. Here, locals come to relax, and some youths perform breakdancing. The atmosphere looks lively.
Opposite this public park is the Coop Mall. After watching the breakdancers for a while, I went to buy wine at the Coop Mall. Wine in Vietnam is much cheaper than in Thailand. Drinking wine is less fattening than beer. After walking around Coop Mall, I returned to my accommodation, brought the wine, and opened it at the restaurant downstairs. I ordered grilled eel, a famous dish of this city, to try. They grilled it dry and it was delicious. Wine and dry grilled eel go well together. A night walk trip followed by wine by the Mekong River.
