The tour begins with a visit to a brick kiln, then a coconut husking factory, followed by a souvenir shop selling coconut products.
There is also traditional Vietnamese singing to enjoy. Here, you can taste honey. Then the tour visits a coconut candy-making house where you can watch the entire process: squeezing, stirring, pressing into molds, wrapping with edible thin paper, and then wrapping again with thicker paper. This candy-making house shows all the steps but is not the famous one seen in advertisements. However, the candy is delicious and served warm. After visiting the candy house, you take a rowing boat cruise to have lunch in the forest.
Then you cruise through small canals to reach a canal near Ben Tre market, arriving at the boat landing around 1 PM. I think this tour is very worthwhile; just the food alone is worth it. When I went, I met a group of Thai tourists who bought the tour from Ho Chi Minh City and traveled with me. They stayed in Can Tho and visited the Can Tho floating market. A two-day one-night tour like that costs about 1000 baht in Ho Chi Minh City, while I bought this half-day tour in Ben Tre for only 300 baht. mr.hotsia February 2012 during the coconut tour boat cruise.
