Traveling by subway or Shenzhen MRT is the most convenient way to get around Shenzhen to various parts of the city.

Shenzhen Metro arrives every 3 minutes. Fare ranges from 10 to 45 baht. Last train at 11 PM. Shenzhen Metro currently has 5 lines with 137 stations, running east-west from Luohu (HK Border/Shenzhen Station) to Shenzhen Airport. I find this line very convenient for tourists. The Longhua Line runs north to south starting from Futian Checkpoint (HK Border). The Shekou Line runs east to west starting from Chiwan to Xinxiu.
This line is designed for ferry passengers as it connects ferry terminals with Shekou Seaworld. The Longgang Line runs from Yitian to Shuanglong, and the last line is Huanzhong. Tickets can be purchased from automatic vending machines that accept Chinese yuan banknotes and give change. Traveling in China often presents challenges with Chinese characters, making it hard to know how to read them.
If I remember correctly, Shenzhen and Guangzhou subways have English signage. mr.hotsia January 2013 Shenzhen subway Shenzhen subway ticket 22 31 59.208 N, 114 6 47.682 E GPS coordinates (POI) Shenzhen subway map 22 31 59.13 N, 114 6 47.783 E Shenzhen subway ticket entrance Shenzhen subway exit
