The airport is located in the northern part of Wuhan city, the capital of Hubei Province. There is an expressway connecting the city center to Wuhan Airport, taking only half an hour to travel. Wuhan Tianhe International Airport is where AirAsia planes park for flights back to Thailand. It is a small airport with one coffee shop outside selling expensive airport-style prices, and a small souvenir shop resembling a 7-11 convenience store.
If you're hungry before the flight, I recommend buying instant noodles (Mama) and adding hot water at the airport, which is provided to stave off hunger before having lunch on the plane. For this route, the timing is not ideal. On the return trip, I ordered food when booking to get a discount because I found it more worthwhile. Boarding at noon, you won't be hungry, but landing at 3 PM is a long wait, so eating on the plane is the best option. On this route, they also serve stir-fried basil with rice.
