I haven't clearly seen what the local people in Han eat, but definitely, cold zone style food with ham hanging on windows is common, and they use it in many dishes. For lunch, wherever you travel, just find food nearby. I ate at a computer building, ordering food by pointing at pictures.
Choose a restaurant with sample pictures for simplicity. For dinner, I walked along Wuhan's pedestrian street until dark and ate at a fried chicken restaurant similar to KFC but a different brand before walking to board a boat crossing the Yangtze River.
