Wuhan High-Speed Railway Station is located on the east side of the Yangtze River, about 15 kilometers from downtown. It was completed just three years ago. This station is very large, comparable to Suvarnabhumi Airport. I traveled from Changsha and arrived at this station in the evening. There are taxis lined up to take passengers into the city, and there is also service to the airport. Most travelers use taxis. You can queue under the taxi shelter, and taxis will come around to pick you up without registration.
No need to ask where you are going, just queue up. This station serves routes to Guangzhou, Changsha, and even Beijing. I recommend budget travel in China starting from Guangzhou, then traveling up to Changsha, Wuhan, or continuing to Beijing as you like.
