The Yangtze River flows through Wuhan city, Hubei Province, China. The river is very wide; I measured about 2 kilometers wide using Google Earth. Along the riverbank, there are ferry stations for crossing back and forth. The river crossings include cars, boats, and subway trains. The boat is the most traditional method dating back to ancient times. Visiting a city with a world-class large river flowing through it means you must not miss a boat cruise to enjoy the beauty. The boat I took was a local ferry used by residents to cross the river.
This was not a fancy dinner cruise with food and sightseeing like the one in Guangzhou. The Yangtze River is very wide. I chose to cruise at night to enjoy the city lights. The lights along the Yangtze River are not as grand as those on the Pearl River, but the width and cool breeze gave a very pleasant feeling. On the boat's rooftop at the back, it was very cold. Without gloves, it was impossible to stand until reaching the other side. I wore winter clothes. I saw Chinese people also taking photos nonstop at the back of the boat.
On my boat, there were only three Thai people: me and my friends; the rest were all Chinese. mr.hotsia January 2013 Yangtze River ferry cruise Night lights along the Yangtze River in Wuhan Yangtze River crossing bridge Ferry boat on the Yangtze River in Wuhan Yangtze boat 30 34 38.046 N, 114 17 33.869 E GPS coordinates (POI) at the pier next to the pedestrian street end 30 34 37.908 N, 114 17 34.061 E Walking through the cold to board the boat 30 34 37.758 N, 114 17 34.391 E
