Pakngum Homestay A little hotel recommendation in Xayaburi If staying in the town center of Xayaburi province, stay near the Hung River. The first time I went, I stayed at Noknoi Guesthouse. The second time, I stayed at Chaianan Hotel, which is probably the largest in the province. Staying in this area makes it easy to find food and convenient for walking; the market is not far. For accommodation, I recommend staying near the market. Hongsa town is not big, with limited accommodation, about 400 baht per night. For Paklay, stay by the river for a beautiful view. When I went, I stayed at Jinny Guesthouse.
For Ngeun town opposite the Huay Kon border, stay near the market because in the morning you don’t have to walk far to catch transport. When I went, I stayed a bit further but still walked. I stayed about 400 meters before the market. In Xayaburi town, there are not many hotels and no advance booking through Agoda that I have seen yet. But soon, the Elephant Festival will be held in town continuously, not scattered to Hongsa or Paklay, which may cause tourism in Xayaburi town to grow quickly with more hotels. For now, if you go, stay at Chaianan Hotel in the province center.
