Explore Muang Hongsa, Chai Buri Province http://www.hotsia.com > Chai Buri Province > Explore Muang Hongsa, Chai Buri Province Other trips of mine in Chai Buri, Tai Lue Chai Buri district, very delicious local food of the Tai Lue people. Travel from Chai Buri to Luang Prabang. Stay at Nok Noi Guesthouse, with a kitchen and a friendly atmosphere. Support exciting AEC travel. Phu Du border crossing to Laos. Paklai Southern Bus Station. Food of Paklai people. Khob city, Chiang Hon city. Stay at Nok Noi Guesthouse. International border at Huai Kon - Namngern, Tha Suang homestay.

Pak Ngum Homestay, Chai Buri Province, located near Huai Kon border checkpoint. To visit here, enter through Huai Kon checkpoint, then take the daily shared truck service from the border to Muang Ngeun, then transfer to a bus from Muang Ngeun to Muang Hongsa. The fare is about 100 baht. The journey is easy, just 1 hour from Huai Kon border checkpoint to Muang Hongsa. This town is charming because many Tai Lue people live here and have well preserved their culture. The Tai Lue people live in various villages.
Around Muang Hongsa, about 1-2 kilometers away, are villages like Ban Phon Sung and Ban Phon Sai. At the morning market of Muang Hongsa, locals come to shop, a great chance to see how they live and eat. There are many guesthouses or accommodations in Muang Hongsa; choose carefully as some have no windows and are dusty. I recommend checking out Jumbo, which is recommended in guidebooks and should be clean. I stayed at a less suitable place and had to deal with dust all night. There are many restaurants in Muang Hongsa.
Due to the construction of a dam or power plant nearby, many Thai and Chinese people walk around the town. There are 5-6 restaurants to choose from, each nicely decorated. Most customers are workers; tourists are not many. Tourist spots in Muang Hongsa include Wat Sri Mongkhon. Unfortunately, I confused it with Wat Sri Bun Rueang in Chai Buri and visited the wrong temple, otherwise I would have shared a video. Other attractions include strolling to see Tai Lue-style houses near Wat Sri Bun Rueang.
Walk through sticky rice fields, visit the morning and evening markets, or travel to Ban Tha Suang. Mr.Hotsia November 2011. Video of sticky rice fields at Hongsa.
