Ban Tha Suang Homestay, Ban Pak Ngum Homestay, Huai Kon Border Market opens every Saturday. This market is 138 kilometers from Nan. It is a market located on the Thai side, right at the Huai Kon International Checkpoint. On market days, Lao people from Nguen City and nearby areas come to buy and sell goods along the Thai border, mostly vegetables and some forest products. During my travel, Mr.Hotsia, I traveled from Nguen City crossing to visit the Laos side, so I learned that this market on the Laos side also sells a lot of scrap metal.
I saw old vehicles parked buying and selling scrap metal for about 200 meters. The Thai and Lao checkpoints are about 1 unit apart. The border market seems to have a lot of wholesale goods, probably for resale. Huai Kon Market didn't have much on the day I visited. The weather was comfortably cool with heavy fog.
