Mr.Hotsia traveled to Laos which has a total of 17 provinces including Vientiane Capital. Visiting here means I have finally traveled to all provinces of Laos. I secretly feel proud. Khammouane Province, I estimate, is about 150 kilometers east from Phrae and Uttaradit. This city is not very popular among tourists because it is far and travel is difficult. Traveling by car from Muang Ngeun to Huay Kon checkpoint takes about 3 hours, or coming from Paklay

Vientiane is a detour and mountainous route, making this city rarely visited by tourists. The main tourist town in Khammouane Province is Ban Tha Suang or Ban Tha Chuang. Khammouane is a mountainous city with forests and wild elephants. Elephants are used for labor in the forest. In the city, there are no elephants walking around like in Thailand. There are many accommodations in Khammouane city, but I recommend Nok Nong Guesthouse. The price is less than 300 baht per night. It has a kitchen for tourists to cook by themselves, is clean, and the owner is friendly.

Located next to the Huong River with a beautiful view, this is the accommodation zone Mr.Hotsia prefers. The restaurant area is lively but not near the market; it is near Chai Anan Hotel and Nok Nong Guesthouse, opposite the Khammouane provincial office. There is a night market, dinner restaurants, Thai-style desserts, and it is close to Wat Si Sawang Vas, making this the most attractive area to visit and stay. The main attractions in Khammouane besides Wat Si Sawang Vas include Wat Si Bun Rueang or Ban Yai Temple, located 2 kilometers south of the provincial office.

Activities during the trip include walking through the morning and evening markets, visiting temples, observing local lifestyles, and enjoying delicious Lao papaya salad.
