The villagers of the house where I spoke and asked to join their fishing boat, I entrusted my meals to them for three meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I closely observed their way of life from going out fishing, returning, selecting fish to sell, cooking each meal, and caring for the baby. This gave me a deep insight into the lifestyle of the people living by Indawgyi Lake. From the very first day I stayed at Indawgyi, I noticed shops selling food and Burmese fermented fish called 'ngasomjo'.
Here it is pronounced 'ngasomjo', which is actually fried fish cake made from fish paste.
