Journey to Indawgyi: The Way of Life of the Indawgyi Lake People. The short film about Nene A, from Namde Village, a Thai-Red village and the gateway to the temple in the middle of Indawgyi Lake. I went to pay respects at the temple and on the way back met a group of Thai-Red women. I asked for their contact numbers to return and observe the Thai-Red lifestyle through their cooking. The next day, I returned to the fork leading to the temple in the lake and called her. We experienced a traditional Thai-Red kitchen.
Cooking many dishes with the essence of ancient Thai culture: rice cooking, grilled fish, and similar foods. During conversations, we could use original Thai words like father, mother, elder sibling, younger sibling, eat rice, drink water. In this village, the younger generation attends school and increasingly uses Burmese, making communication less easy compared to other villages I visited. Tourists stay at a guesthouse run by soldiers.
One foreign visitor invited others to this Thai-Red village, adding more color to shared meals. This young foreign man also joined the dinner at Nene A's house the previous day. Mr. Hotsia travels with passion.
