I have traveled the Mae Sariang route passing Khun Yuam many times. Each time I passed Mae La Noi, I thought someday I would stay here.
Because it is a peaceful town embraced by real mountains. At first, I thought I might have to stay with locals because I didn't think anyone would build a resort here. Today I had a great opportunity to travel the route from Mae Sariang to Tha Song Yang, so I stayed in Mae La Noi, a town I've wanted to stay in for a very long time. The name Mae La Noi comes from Mae Luang Noi, which used to be the home of the Lu people before the Tai Yai arrived. The Lu then moved elsewhere.
There are two rivers here: Mae Luang Noi and Mae Luang Luang. The name Mae Luang Noi was said so often that it eventually became Mae La Noi. I mention this so you won't think, like I did, that there used to be many Las around here. Mae La Noi is a flat area like being in the middle of a valley. Only Tai Yai villagers live here. There are not many tourists. I think Khun Yuam is quiet, but here you get a peaceful, simple atmosphere closer to nature. The Mae La Noi Subdistrict Administrative Organization
They have set up a place for tourists to rest, drink coffee, and play with sheep. Everyone who passes by usually likes it because the view is truly beautiful. But for me, I stayed here because I wanted to enjoy the morning view more than just passing through. Let's talk about the accommodation. The place I stayed is called Huay, which means house or home, and Tai means Tai Yai. But the house itself is not in the Tai Yai style. The accommodation is stylish with attic rooms, a roof you can close to watch the stars. In the morning, wake up to see the mist in front of the house and sip hot coffee.
There are high mountains as the main backdrop far away. An amazing atmosphere that's hard to find elsewhere... Mr.Hotsia February 2011. Mae La Noi 180-degree view from "Huay Tai.. A Home Embraced by the Mountains of Mae La Noi". I don't know what this area is called, but it's all around Huay Tai. Playing the Happy Farm game on FB. The view in front of my accommodation. Just outside the accommodation. Anyone who wants to play with the sheep is welcome. Beautiful view, delicious coffee, the sheep just lie around sighing. Morning coffee viewpoint. Pathway to the resort's different houses.
Locals farm gardens nearby; the nature is good. This is the breakfast area. The three-tone gong played together. The porch of the Huay Tai villagers' house. Beautiful views of Mae La Noi. The sheep I mentioned just lie around. Embracing the mountains of Mae La Noi. Let me sip some coffee first. For an exciting trip, there will be signs like this.
