In this lifetime, I have never encountered an ordinary made-to-order food or Pad Thai shop like this one.

There is a violinist playing to entertain diners. Only Uncle Thongpon, a police volunteer at Phayao Provincial Police Station in Chun District, can do this. This Violin Pad Thai shop could survive just by selling Pad Thai or made-to-order dishes without the violin because the food is delicious. But out of passion, Uncle Thongpon plays the violin for customers. The dish I recommend is not Pad Thai, even though the shop’s name is Violin Pad Thai. I actually prefer the stir-fried pork with curry paste.
And the various spicy stir-fries here are made perfectly with the flavors I like, served with complete side dishes, fragrant and tasty. It’s not that the Pad Thai isn’t delicious—it is—but I prefer the stir-fried curry paste and stir-fried forest dishes more. Dining here offers the atmosphere of listening to Uncle Thongpon’s skilled violin playing, which whets the appetite. However, I noticed other diners seem indifferent, probably used to it. As for me, I quickly finished eating and went to film a clip. The Violin Pad Thai shop is located at
in front of Huai Khao Kam Temple, on the way to Chiang Kham District, Village No. 1, Huai Khao Kam Subdistrict, Chun District, Phayao Province. The owner is Uncle Thongpon Sandos, phone 086-5866261.
