I like to sip local beer for less than 10 baht a glass, exchanging experiences with other tourists who also travel here. For me, visiting Hue without trying the local food is a big miss. The food here is not Hanoi-style pho or Hoi An-style noodle soup, but hot noodle soup with thin rice noodles (Mi) that warms your stomach and tastes so delicious you want to finish the bowl, especially in the cool January weather of Hue. I once ate two bowls and felt full and very satisfied. Each bowl costs about 20-30 baht only.

Besides noodles, Vietnamese-style rice with curry is another dish I really like. You can choose pork, fish, or chicken, all at an affordable price of just 20 baht per plate. This allowed me to stay in Hue for several weeks without worrying about expenses. I also tried local desserts similar to Thai sweets made with flour, sago, red beans, and soybeans, topped with coconut milk and syrup, perfectly sweet and creamy.
