Mr.Hotsia recommends hotels in Hoi An. When I traveled to Hoi An, I also strolled around the local houses. I just walked aimlessly and found a house with round white rice flour drying in front. I went in to take pictures. The person inside saw me and invited me in. At first, I didn't know and hesitated, but later I went in. Wow, it was a small factory making flour and rice crackers. I saw the different steps of the process.
At this house, they make flour similar to our Pak Mor rice crackers. They make it, dry it until it’s dry, then toast it until crispy and golden, very appetizing. I don’t know what they make next, but I think they use this flour to wrap various sweets. The real charm of visiting this house is talking with Vietnamese people, practicing speaking and listening. Being in the real place helps you learn faster. When Vietnamese people talk, they ask if you have a girlfriend yet. If you say yes, they ask if you have children and how many.
If you say you don’t have a girlfriend yet, they will point to someone and say that person is single, just joking as usual. It doesn’t mean they like you. I want to clarify this so when you travel here, you understand. Mr.Hotsia January 2011 recommends hotels in Hoi An. Watch the Mr.Hotsia clip following the flour cake making in Hoi An.
