The boat journey took 4 hours. Along the way, we passed floating markets where locals sell their goods. Boats carrying rice, charcoal, and wood for charcoal making travel back and forth. It’s an authentic glimpse of Vietnamese riverside life.
There are charcoal-making villages along the river stretching for several kilometers. There is a floating fuel station on a boat. The final part of the boat trip is on a large branch of the Mekong River. Upon arriving in Can Tho city, the boat docks at the central pier near the Ho Chi Minh monument.
