It felt like I was traveling back in time hundreds of years. When I visited, it was raining heavily, yet Burmese young men and women kept walking around the pagoda without pause. About ten children were joyfully sliding down natural rainwater slides, both boys and girls. A must-see spot at the Mahazedi Paya is the victory prayer point of King Bayinnaung. There is an elephant statue here for tourists to pay respects and take photos. From this spot, the Mahazedi Paya looks magnificent.

This pagoda is located in the countryside. Just observing the local lifestyle and houses is worthwhile. mr.hotsia June 2013 mr.hotsia June 2013 Recommended popular hotels in Yangon: Victory Ground, King Bayinnaung.
