Breeze Guesthouse Mawlamyine Guesthouse in Mawlamyine Hotels and accommodations in Mawlamyine, Mon State Accommodations in Mawlamyine city I recommend The Breeze Guesthouse, pronounced 'The Breezy Guesthouse'. It is affordable. I stayed for 7,000 kyats per night, about 210 baht. Shared bathrooms with comfortable Western-style toilets and good water pressure. They also have private bathrooms and double rooms for 14 USD. Free Wi-Fi is available but not in every room.

The hotel is located by the Salween River, within walking distance to the nearby Mawlamyine Night Market and the morning market. I stayed at The Breeze Guesthouse for 6 nights. In the evenings, I often took a 15 baht motorcycle ride to watch the sunset at Kyaikthanlan Pagoda. Walk-ins are usually full, so I recommend booking your hotel online in advance, at least for the first night, to ensure you have a place to stay without searching. For subsequent nights, you can add more stays. I saw two cheap hotels available.

Other hotels are mostly two-star and up, priced around 40 USD. If you have the budget, book a nicer hotel for a more comfortable stay. When traveling to other cities, try to have your current accommodation recommend and book your next stay. Many do this to secure accommodations. Guesthouses often recommend places to each other, but some do not, which is fine. Mawlamyine city is not very large, and motorcycle taxis are available for getting around.

Therefore, just choose to stay in a hotel in the city center. Check the map for reference. Also, in Mawlamyine and other southern Myanmar cities, many people speak Thai, so Thai travelers won’t have problems even if they don’t speak English. I met Thai travelers staying at the same place who spoke only Thai and traveled comfortably. Hotel prices in Mawlamyine are cheaper than Yangon but generally more expensive than Vietnam. The hotel I stayed at in Mawlamyine (The Breeze Guesthouse, pronounced 'The Breezy Guesthouse') also provides breakfast.

Looking down at the Salween River mr.hotsia October 2013 Recommended affordable and good hotels in Mawlamyine Breeze Guesthouse (Breeze) where I stayed 6 nights, the best cheap and good option in Mawlamyine Cinderella Hotel, not far from the river, located in the city center within walking distance to the market and convenient for visiting Kyaikthanlan Pagoda. Attram Hotel near the bridge to Mottama with beautiful river views, close to Mawlamyine morning market. Breeze Guesthouse Mawlamyine internet speed
