Traveling from Dien Bien Phu to Sapa http://www.hotsia.com > Dien Bien Phu > Travel from Dien Bien Phu to Sapa Explore Dien Bien Phu, the city of the Black Thai people in Dien Bien Phu, Dien Bien Phu to Sapa, Dien Bien Phu nightlife, recommended good and affordable hotels in Dien Bien Phu. Traveling to Sapa via Dien Bien Phu is a great option for those with plenty of time, as you can stop and visit various towns along the way.

For traveling from Thailand, I took the route through Chiang Khong, crossed via Huai Sai, then took a bus to Udomchai. I stayed in Udomchai for one night. The next day, I took a bus from Udomchai to Khua town in Phongsali province. From Khua town, I took an early morning bus to Dien Bien Phu, stayed and explored Dien Bien Phu for two days, then traveled to Sapa in northern Vietnam. The bus from Dien Bien Phu to Sapa runs once daily, using a 20-seat minivan, departing around 6:30 AM. There is no night bus.
When buying tickets, purchase them directly at the Dien Bien Phu bus station. The staff will issue the tickets. You can buy tickets in advance, probably one day ahead. When I traveled to Sapa, I bought my ticket the evening before departure and boarded the bus the next day. I noticed some passengers without tickets paid the fare on the bus; this did not affect the price. Along the way, the route passes through forests and mountains with many beautiful views. The bus stops once to eat mangoes and also for lunch. The meal options include rice
and pho at a nearby restaurant with fewer customers. You can walk there to buy food. It seems less crowded and probably cheaper. Upon arriving in Sapa, walk towards the Sapa market, where most accommodations are located nearby. If you get lost, remember the phrase "ดีเจอะเอ๋อเดา" to ask for directions to the market and follow the hand signals from locals.
